MICHELE THACKER

Michele has been singing at Donk’s for more than a decade and has long been a favorite of Donk’s audiences. Her renditions of Patsy Cline favorites and gospel songs, both old and new, never fail to touch the heart of those who listen. Michele has an abundance of talent and she uses it well, whether she is performing alone or teaming up with other members of the Opry staff. She made her country debut with the Opry staff as a young teenager, then was the lead female singer for a local band for a number of years. When that group disbanded, she returned to the Opry as a regular and has become a favorite with Opry audiences. She has literally stopped the show from time to time with her version of such specials as ?My Baby Thinks He’s a Train, ?Crazy, ?Sweet Dreams and ?Rockin to the Rhythm of the Rain, to name a few.
Michele married Paul Thacker in 2003 and resides in Mathews with her husband and her two children, Grace Walker and Cole Thacker. Michele is a registered nurse who works as the staff training nurse at all local Riverside Hospital nursing homes. Despite her busy career and taking care of her family she makes time to sing – because she loves it
