LAUREN WOODRUM

DONK’S ANSWER TO SHANIA TWAIN, LAUREN WOODRUM
Opry regular, Lauren Woodrum is one of the most talented performers to take the stage at Virginia’s Lil' Ole Opry, or anywhere else, for that matter. Lauren won the 1999 talent competition at Donk’s and has been a regular since that time. Born and raised in Newport News, Virginia, Lauren received her nursing degree from Riverside Hospital and is now a full-time nursing professional. Lauren has been touted as Donk’s answer to contemporary country music artist, Shania Twain. She is not only easy on the eyes, but has a beautiful vocal talent ...a talent that is comparable to any artist on the music scene today.
Lauren began singing in church with her family at the age of five and has grown up listening to and loving to sing country music. She sang with a band known as “Plagal Collage” during her high school years which took first place in the State of Virginia in a video competition. Lauren also has sung the National Anthem at many sporting events. Since she has been a regular at Donk’s, Lauren married Justin Woodrum, who is a member of the U. S. military, and who sings, plays guitar and writes songs. When she and her mother and stepfather (and now her husband, too) team up to sing gospel music in a group they call “Revealed”, they create a sound that even Bill Gaither would envy.
“Lauren is definitely one of our must professional performers. You can always count on her to do any song well and to have a good time doing it! Lauren loves her audience and her audience loves her. That kind of enthusiasm is catching and the audience finds themselves caught up in every on of her performances,” said a Donk’s spokesperson.
