JIM KEPKA Co-Coa Show Intro, 9 June 2012 Jim started performing on the Donk's stage as a regular during the 2006 season. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, this city boy has a country soul. "I grew up listening to a variety of music...anything from Johnny Mathis, The Commodores, Jim Croce, James Taylor, Billy Joel to Styx, Queen, and Van Halen (Yes, we can even mention the RAP days!!!). I began (seriously) listening to country music in 1999. I was on a business trip with a coworker and we had to drive from Abilene, TX to San Antonio, TX. Just before we left, my coworker bought a 2 CD box set of military marching band music (talk about making a long trip longer). So we listened to these CD's as we drove through Texas watching the tumbleweed roll by. Once the final song played, I took control of the radio and the first station I found was playing 'You Had Me from Hello', by Kenny Chesney. When we arrived in San Antonio, the first thing I did was go buy that CD...I've been hooked on country music ever since." The Air Force brought Jim to Langley AFB, VA in 1999. "I didn't know about Donk's Theater for several years, until Joell convinced me to come try out for a talent show...with some hesitation I did. Once I walked into Donk's and Uncle Jimmy took the stage, I felt like I was home...I knew I wanted to perform here. You just can't find good, family entertainment like Donk's around anymore. This is a special place and I am blessed to be called a member." Thank you to all who attended our show on 9 June 12! We are blessed to share the evening with you and to share our family with yours! Thank you all again for the support!!! Jim
